Kebohongan 1: Mengaku semua baik-baik saja
"Oh! tidak apa. Aku baik-baik saja".
Kebohongan 2: Mengaku suka apa adanya
"Aku suka kamu apa adanya".
Kebohongan 3: Mengaku suka teman-teman Anda
"Seringkali wanita memuji teman-teman kekasihnya, demi hubungan asmaranya berjalan baik.

When it Pays to Spend More

Sometimes shelling out a little extra money upfront saves you a hard-earned cash down the road, and splurging becomes an investment that pays for itself. Here are just a few examples of when it pays to spend more:

Resealable Food Packages When food doesn't get sealed properly, it spoils and goes to waste, so look for packages with resealable tubes, bags or containers. They may cost you a bit more at the grocery store, but can save you hundreds of dollars a year in uneaten food. Or, if you're a bulk buyer, consider investing in a vacuum sealer or even some good quality vacuum bags. "It's a really good way of taking advantage of sales at the grocery store, especially on really pricey items like meats and cheeses. You can buy in bulk and then they're ready when you want them," says Jody Rholena of ShopSmart Magazine.

Class Packages
Stop the "pay as you go" insanity at your local yoga studio, spin or aerobics class. If you've taken three or more sessions in a row, ask yourself - am I going to do this again? If yes, opt for the pre-paid class packages. They'll run you more upfront but a single drop-in fee can cost about 15% more per class. "Only pay a drop-in fee, which can be expensive, if you're trying out a new activity, a new gym or a new instructor, says Rholena. "Then a few extra bucks in research can really be the price of admission," she says.

Salad Spinners Did you know that bagged salad costs roughly three times more than a single head of lettuce? To save time washing and drying your greens, consider buying a salad spinner, which costs about $25 at your local home goods store. Even if you do buy bagged lettuce, Consumer Reports says the greens still need to be washed, so if salad is a staple for your family, a spinner can be worth the expense.

Single-Cup Coffee Makers
You probably already know your $5 a day coffee habit is not so financially fit, but did you know a good-quality single-cup coffee maker can save you almost $1 per day or at least $300 a year, depending on your daily coffee order? Just look for the latest models that feature recyclable K-cups to reduce waste. "Many of the one cup-at-a-time coffee machines we've tested are really good and they're $100. Some are even $40 or $50," says Rholena. "We also test coffee and some of the top rated at-home brews are from the same companies you're buying from like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts."

Tailoring

A few nips and tucks here and there will keep your quality clothing in good working order and can even make inexpensive pieces look custom-made. Same with saving your soles. Rather than buying a new pair of shoes, have your favorite pair repaired regularly for a fraction of the cost.

Canadian police waiting for alleged thief to ‘pass’ swallowed diamond

A model holds the recently auctioned Martian Pink diamond (AP/Kin Cheung)

All things must pass. At least that's the plan in place for police in Ontario who are waiting for a man to extricate a $20,000 diamond from his body, after he allegedly swallowed the stolen gem last week.
The Canada Press reports that Richard Mackenzie Matthews, 52, is being held by police after allegedly swapping out a real diamond for a fake one at Precision Jewelers and then swallowing the 1.7-carat stone. Sgt. Brett Corey says Matthews has gone to the bathroom several times since being detained but the diamond is still in the rough, so to speak.
When police subjected Matthews to an X-ray they actually discovered a pair of fake diamonds inside his intestines. But Corey said that because actual diamonds are translucent, the missing stone did not show up in the scan. Matthews is reportedly "eager" to transfer the merchandise and is cooperating with police, according to Corey.
Matthews is currently charged with theft and breach of court conditions. He also has outstanding warrants in Toronto.
Corey said police initially gave Matthews laxatives but are now feeding him "whatever he wants" in order to expedite things.

WOW! Facebook Is Now Worth More Than These 10 Huge Companies

SymbolPriceChange
FB40.88+2.88

Facebook is finally going public.
It'll be worth about $104 billion when it debuts at $38 a share, and there's guaranteed to be a pop once it starts trading.
That means that the total value of Facebook, an eight-year-old company, is more than some of the largest, most successful companies in the world that have been around for decades.
Even some of the top tech companies that have been on top of Silicon Valley for decades have fallen behind the Web 2.0 wunderkind.
Here are some of the most interesting ones:
  • Hewlett-Packard, one of the largest PC makers in the world, is smaller than Facebook. It's worth $44 billion — less than half of Facebook's titanic $105 billion valuation. HP also just laid off about 25,000 employees
  • Facebook is four times larger than Dell, another super-giant PC and server maker. Dell has a market cap of about $26 billion. It's still trying to find its way in the post-PC era.
  • The New York Times, one of the most prestigious content publishers in the world, is a blip compared to Facebook. Sharing is apparently worth 105 times more than some of the best content available on the Internet. The New York Times is worth slightly less than $1 billion. A bunch of New York Times staffers are actually planning to quit.
  • Target, a huge big-box retailer similar to a higher-end version of Walmart, is worth less than half of Facebook. Target has a market cap of about $37 billion — well short of Facebook's expected valuation. Target actually raised its guidance this week, raising its value.
  • Facebook barely edges out Amazon, the largest online retailer in the world. Amazon is worth about $100 billion, while Facebook is worth just a smidge more. Amazon's Kindle has been a bit of a bust so far.
  • Facebook is worth twice as much as eBay. eBay has a market cap of about $50 billion.
  • Facebook is worth about 10 Nokias put together. Nokia, one of the largest phone manufacturers in the world (not smartphone), is worth about $10 billion. The Nokia Lumia 900 is actually pretty nice, though.
Not much of a surprise, though. Facebook is making a world-changing piece of technology, and it also happens to pay its engineers better than most other companies in Silicon Valley — so it attracts the best talent.
But Facebook still isn't bigger than the typical tech giants: Google, Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft is worth about $250 billion, while Google is worth $204 billion and Apple is worth about $500 billion.

There’s something special about a balcony—your own private plot of the outdoors, or a convivial entertainment venue, depending on your mood. Now add a swimming pool, outdoor theater and million-dollar views and you’ve got the luxury perches of some of the most sought-after high-rise real estate on the market.
City apartment dwellers, generally lacking in yard space, can especially benefit from balconies and the chance to have a little slice of the outdoors. Take the $6.8 million rooftop condo for sale in Dallas, for example. It includes a spectacular balcony—the sort of place that can house a party for your 100 closest friends, or get some sky-high solitude to lounge in the adjacent pool.

If a party pad at the top of Dallas seems too hectic, then maybe the atmospheric heights of a nearly $5 million mountain chalet is more your speed. With its stone touches and natural-looking wooden beams (some are full trunks), this Oregon home caters to the gentleman outdoorsman. Summertime brings mountain hikes and whitewater rafting.
Looking for a balcony home with a little more attitude? The VM House in Copenhagen, Denmark, could double for a spiky modern-art sculpture with its façade of sharp, triangular balconies. More than aesthetic appeal, the diagonal ledges were designed to encourage interaction between residents, from balcony to balcony.
With the help of the housing experts at Realtor.com, we’ve rounded up some of the most impressive and unusual high-rise balconies modern architecture has to offer:
Poolside Perch

A private rooftop pool and jacuzzi, and access to a larger community pool, an outdoor and an indoor theater, three bedrooms, five baths, covered parking for up to four cars, four fireplaces and a host of other amenities – this is a penthouse pad that pulls out all the stops. As one of only two homes with rooftop pools in Dallas, listing broker Marilyn Hoffman at Hoffman International Properties stresses how unique the condo is, and that it would be perfect for an international businessman, a bachelor of means, or someone who just appreciates the hyper-modern aesthetic.

Balcony Spikes

For a balcony home with a little more personality, look no further than the VM House in Copenhagen. The structure could double for a spiky modern-art sculpture with its façade of sharp, triangular balconies. More than aesthetic appeal, the diagonal ledges were designed to encourage interaction between residents, from balcony to balcony. A courtyard and play areas are also included on the grounds. The housing complex, which consists of two buildings, one in the shape of an ‘M’ and the other shaped as a ‘V’, was completed by JDS Architects in 2005.

Mountain Chalet
Location:
Grants Pass, Oregon
Price: $4.95 million
You can either enjoy the mountain views from here or go ski on them.
Photos: Realtor.com
Located in the higher quarters of Grants Pass, this three-bedroom, eight-bathroom, ski-chalet-style luxury home is for the true snow-lover or outdoors enthusiast. In winter, there are plenty of skiing and snow leisure options. In summer, there are a plethora of mountains, National Forests, and river sport opportunities, many of which can be seen from the home’s numerous stone-and-wood balconies, including a larger perch for gatherings, and smaller balconies off the bedrooms and main bathroom. Luxury touches such as an indoor basketball half-court, a heated outdoor pool with a slide, and 16-seat home theater are included.

Honolulu Nest
Location:
Honolulu, Hawaii
Price: $3.288 million
The condo is a half block from Waikiki Beach.

Honolulu is the second-most expensive city in the Unites States to live, according to Kiplinger, so it stands to reason that this sunset-view condo is listed at over $3 million. But for those who looking for a luxury two-bedroom home with a balcony view of the mountains and of Waikiki Beach, it seems hard to beat. Located half a block from the beach, and about seven blocks from the world-famous Waikiki Beach, the Trump-owned condo tower offers a wide range of amenities, such as a heated pool, concierge, and valet parking.

Y! Big Story: Annular solar eclipse, transit of Venus and other non-doomsday celestial phenomena

Doomsday, schmoomsday.
Why settle for dusty ol' Mayan calendars and 12/12/12 apocalyptic visions, when 2012 has been offering up so many stellar—and planetary—sightings? We Earthlings have already been treated to nice meteor showers as well as a magnificent supermoon, and this weekend brings an annular solar eclipse.
That's not even the best treat: Venus will be ambling between Earth and the sun in a rare (though non-earth-shattering) planetary alignment. Sure, the event might look like a black pimple floating across the face of the sun, but this celestial rarity once guided adventurous astronomers in their quest to determine the size of the solar system and yielded the first-ever global scientific collaboration. Don't blink—Venus doesn't cross our path again until December 2117.
Annular Solar Eclipse, Jan. 4, 2011An annular solar eclipse and that ring of fire: A solar eclipse happens this Sunday, except for the Eastern seaboard (sorry). It's an "annular" eclipse rather than a total one, which means the sun's edges peek out from behind the moon, creating the illusion of a ring of fire. (The word "annular" comes from the Latin word for ring.) The lower 48 states will have to wait until Aug. 17, 2017, for a total shutout. This weekend's eclipse
begins at dawn in southern China. It then sweeps across the Pacific Ocean, passing south of Alaska, and makes landfall on the Pacific coast near the California-Oregon border. It ends near Lubbock, Texas, at sunset. Partial phases of this eclipse will be visible over most of western North America. (May 9, Space.com)
Those of you in the annular path should head to higher ground (avoiding clouds and light pollution) and put solar filters either over your eyes or on your equipment. Thirty-three national parks will be hosting solar gatherings. Lucky Coloradans get to hang out for free at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Folsom stadium, starting 5:30 p.m. local time, thanks to the Fiske Planetarium.
Below, a chart of solar eclipse times. (Credit: Geoff Gaherty/Starry Night Software/SPACE.com)
May 2012 solar eclipse times
What kind of solar glasses to get: Designer sunglasses don't cut it. At this late date, check telescope stores or call your local planetarium. No. 14 welder's glass, carried in specialty welding stores, works too. Don't forget solar filters for your camera equipment. Then there's the cardboard method:
The safest and simplest technique is perhaps to watch the eclipse indirectly with the solar projection method. Use your telescope, or one side of your binoculars, to project a magnified image of the sun's disk onto a shaded white piece of cardboard.
The image on the cardboard will be safe to view and photograph. But make sure to cover the telescope's finder scope or the unused half of the binoculars, and don't let anybody look through them. (May 9, Space.com)
If you don't buy binoculars for this weekend, you may want to consider ordering a pair for the transit of Venus.
Transit of Venus, June 8, 2004Measuring the solar system with the transit of Venus: Yes, there's an app. With just the tap of a finger on a screen, people can do in hours what 18th-century scientists needed years to do: measure the solar system. This year's transit of Venus—the second of a pair—begins on the evening of June 5 for North Americans. Our previous glimpse was in June 2004, and before that, back in the 19th century. An explanation of this planetary alignment:
Mercury and Venus are the only planets closer to the Sun than Earth, both moving faster in their orbits and passing us regularly. But rather than crossing directly between us and the Sun, these planets are usually slightly above or below the Sun as we see them. When they line up just right we see the round, black silhouette of the planet slowly crossing the Sun, an even referred to as a "transit." Mercury transits the Sun 13 or 14 times each century. But Venus transits happen in pairs—two transits eight years apart—with more than 100 years between each pair. (Transit of Venus, Astronomers Without Borders)
How to see the transit of Venus: Astronomy Without Borders will stream a webcast from Mount Wilson Observatory. See above about solar glasses.
Measuring the solar system the old-fashioned way: In 1761 and 1769, obsessed stargazers undertook glorious, and sometimes fatal, journeys, in an orchestrated effort that took 45 years to coordinate.
In 1716, British astronomer Edmond Halley had called upon scientists to unite in a project spanning the entire globe. He predicted that on June 6, 1761, Venus would traverse the burning disc of the sun for about six hours.
At a time when it took six days to travel from London to Newcastle, dozens of them travelled to remote outposts of the world to observe the phenomenon, laden with clocks, huge telescopes and other instruments.
Many risked their lives. With the Seven Years' War [1756-63] tearing Europe apart, they were even sent into war zones. (May 12, The Daily Mail)
Most were not swashbuckling men by any measure, but they risked traveling with instruments and rum, barely surviving shipwrecks and warship attacks. In 1761 Venus didn't quite cooperate and messed up the calculations. The second transit—on June 3, 1769—saw more success. Sharing the information took years, but the calculated distance between Earth and the sun wasn't far off the 92,960,000 miles that scientists agree on today.

More to come: Put this on your night calendar or monitor: Sea and Sky. Marshall Space Flight Center astronomer Mitzi Adams recommends the Perseids in August, which always has very bright meteors. "The conjunction of Venus and Saturn in November (27) should be pretty spectacular and complements the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter that occurred in March," she tells Yahoo!.

4 Ways the IPO Will Change Facebook Forever

Get ready for the Facebook feeding frenzy. On Thursday afternoon, the company priced its initial public offering at $38 a share, giving it a market value of $104 billion. The stock begins trading Friday on the Nasdaq.
The result for Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook employees, and early investors is clear. The IPO will make many billionaires and countless others millionaires.
But what about the rest of us? How will Facebook as a publicly traded company affect everyday users who just want to know what's going on with their friends and family? While any answer to these questions involves speculation, it's a good bet that Facebook's IPO will change Facebook.
Here are four ways users may experience this change firsthand:
1. More ads. Facebook makes most of its revenue through advertisements. As a public company, management will experience pressure from the press and investors to meet quarterly numbers. More than that, its hefty IPO valuation will demand phenomenal growth of both revenue and net income. While Facebook would do well to diversify its income streams, it's a sure bet that part of its strategy will involve enhanced ad revenues.
Google offers a good history lesson. Anyone who has used the search giant is probably aware that Google inserts paid advertisements above the search results and to the right of the search results. What you may not have noticed is that the number of those ads has steadily increased over the years as Google looks for more growth. In fact, in the last year or so, Google has even started inserting ads promoting its own content in highly sought after verticals such as credit cards, banking, and mortgages.
Exactly how this ad growth may affect Facebook users is unclear. But we are likely to see more commercialization of our Facebook pages.
2. New mobile. Mobile users of Facebook account for nearly 50 percent of its user base. According to its S-1 filing with the SEC, Facebook had 488 mobile users in March. With the growth of the smartphone and tablet markets, more Internet users are going mobile than ever before. So why is that a problem for Facebook?
The problem comes in the form of revenue: Facebook doesn't make any from mobile. Some have predicted that Facebook will introduce ads into its mobile platform. That's certainly a possibility. What is certain is that Facebook will be looking to monetize its mobile platform in one way or another. If done right, it should enhance the user experience. If done wrong, it could mean just more annoying ads.
3. Less privacy. A lot has been written about Facebook's IPO and user privacy. What we haven't seen is much in the way of specifics. Exactly how or why would going public have any effect on privacy?
The answer is simple: ad revenue. Google gets the benefit of our searches to present us with relevant ads. If you are looking for "Nike Zoom Ja Fly" running shoes, Google can present paid ads for exactly that. But Google is a search engine; Facebook is not. Google has the benefit of knowing in real-time exactly what we are looking for.
Perhaps that's why Google generates about seven times more revenue per user than does Facebook. Google generates about $9.52 per monthly user, while Facebook generates just $1.32. And that's a big problem for Facebook.
One solution would be to improve its ad platform. To do that, it may turn to more user data. If done correctly, the result could be positive for users. Relevant ads that don't overwhelm the content can be helpful. Taken too far, however, and the results could be disastrous.
4. Facebook-generated content. If the above potential changes at Facebook are speculation, this one can safely be categorized as wild speculation. But it seems that Facebook-generated content, in contrast to the user-generated content that dominates now, has tremendous potential if executed correctly.
Currently, Facebook has a wealth of data that is largely untapped. Putting aside privacy concerns for a moment, one wonders if Facebook could enter markets now dominated by the likes of Groupon, Craigslist, and Yelp in ways no other company could. Facebook would need to leverage the information already tucked away in more than 900 million Facebook pages. But if it could do so in a way that made our lives better without compromising privacy, the potential is virtually unlimited.
Imagine Facebook-created content about local events powered in part by user-generated content stripped of any data that would give rise to privacy concerns. In some cases, Facebook could choose to generate its own content; in other instances, it may choose to partner with existing technologies and brands. But either way, the income potential makes me wonder if this isn't in Facebook's future. Time will tell.

The Weird Reasons You're so Tired

By Mehmet Oz

Has your energy level been low? Have you felt exhausted, despite regulating your sleep and stress? If so, you're not alone. Nearly one-third of US primary care patients report significant fatigue, accounting for 7 million office visits every year. Learn four surprising reasons that could account for your exhaustion, along with Dr. Oz's unusual-but effective-cures. Of course, if your energy level is unusually low, get your blood checked by your physician.

RELATED: Dr. Oz's 2-Day Wonder Cleanse

Bad Bacteria in Your Gut Prevent Deep Sleep

Two-thirds of the world's population--over 4.5 billion people--have bad bacteria known as H. Pylori living in their stomach. This harmful bacteria can be a major source of fatigue. Your stomach's inner lining produces acid to digest food, while simultaneously creating protective mucus to guard from this acid. H. pylori bacteria invade the stomach, destroying your protective mucus layer and leaving you vulnerable to ulcers, or tiny sores on the stomach's lining. While you sleep, acid can escape the stomach through these ulcers and flow up into your esophagus, causing a sore throat and ruining your ability to get deep, restorative sleep. Additionally, as blood escapes from the ulcers, it may cause anemia, further lowering your energy throughout the day.

Fortunately, H. Pylori infection is easy to detect and treat. A simple breath test from your doctor will detect the bacteria. Antibiotics can kill the bad bacteria and acid-reducing medications will treat the ulcers. You can also try taking antacids before bed; if they seem to lead to a better night's sleep, it may indicate the presence of H. Pylori.

Phlegm Build-Up May Clog Airways
Healthy breathing draws oxygen through your nose and down to your lungs, giving your body the energy it needs. But as you sleep, phlegm can build up in the back of your throat, blocking the passage of oxygen from the nose to the lungs. You may compensate by breathing through the mouth, but a recent study shows that doing so is correlated to a significantly lower blood-oxygen level, which can lead to fatigue. Gargling every morning, whether with mouthwash or salt water, can help clear the throat's phlegm, allowing more oxygen to reach the lungs which boosts your energy.

Your Morning Coffee Could Be Making You More Tired

Many of us turn to coffee or tea for a morning pick-me-up, but it could be the cause of your fatigue for two reasons. First, when consumed in excess, coffee causes a surge in your metabolism, followed by a crash. Second, caffeine has a dehydrating effect. When you wake up, you tend to already be dehydrated from not drinking water for hours. If you don't consume any other beverages, your coffee could cause further dehydration and drain your energy. The key is to drink caffeine in moderation and to drink a full 8-ounce glass of water around the same time as your morning cup of joe to stay hydrated.

Your Clothes May Be Too Comfy (and the Wrong Color)

Getting too comfortable may actually make you more tired. Baggy and stretchy clothing makes it much easier to slouch, which strains your joints and muscles as they work extra hard to distribute oxygen throughout your body. Dressing up not only prevents slouching, but also boosts confidence. Confidence, in turn, tends to improved posture, allowing for healthy breathing.

The color of your clothing may also be tiring you out. Dark colors like black, navy and brown stimulate the secretion of melatonin--the chemical that makes you sleepy. The good news is that studies show there are many colors to keep you energized. White clothes suppress sleep-inducing melatonin and boost serotonin--the feel-good chemical in your brain. Red is good for an aggressive kind of energy. It's also been shown to increase blood flow and stimulate adrenal glands. Yellow has been proven to stimulate the brain, build self-confidence, and encourage optimism.

Unexpected Cures for Your Fatigue

Eggs and Cantaloupe
Even though it may be an unusual combination, eggs and cantaloupe could be a winning duo to beat your fatigue. Eggs are an inexpensive and low-calorie source of protein on their own, but they're even better when paired with a complex carbohydrate like cantaloupe. The protein in the eggs helps slow the absorption of the fruit's sugar, preventing sugar spikes and sustaining energy throughout the day.

Cordyceps Mushrooms
Cordyceps is a parasitic fungus that naturally grows on the head of a caterpillar. An animal study determined cordyceps helped improve metabolism, which can alleviate fatigue and increase physical endurance as you age. In 1993, two female Chinese athletes beat world records for the 1500-, 3000-, and 10,000-meter runs and attributed their success to cordyceps supplements. Try 3g per day. They're available for about $7 at health food stores.

Nopal Cactus
Normally, cacti are best admired from a distance, but the Nopal cactus, also known as "prickly pear," can be an effective cure for your fatigue. It's sold fresh, dried, and in jams for use in Mexican and South Western cuisines. Nopal is also available as a supplement. It's packed with antioxidants that can help the liver detoxify the body and reduce inflammation-related fatigue. Try 1000 mg with a full glass of water per day. You can buy Nopal cactus for about $12 at health food stores.

"The Walrus" Exercise
Although you may get a few looks at the gym, this unusual exercise is a great way to boost your energy. First, lie on your stomach with your arms outstretched on the floor in front of you. Plant your palms and use the strength of your arms and core to pull yourself forward and upright. Hold that position for a second, then lower your body, extend your arms. Repeat this while traveling across the floor like a walrus on the move. As with all exercise, "the walrus" speeds up your metabolism. Additionally, by working often-neglected muscles, you'll be activating new areas of your brain involved in coordination and muscle memory. Most importantly, this back-arching exercise is a great way to stretch, improve circulation, and relieve the muscle tension that could be bringing your energy level down.

‘American Idol’ Results: And The Final Two Are…

For weeks now on "American Idol," it seemed like Joshua Ledet was the Season 11 contestant to beat--the judges certainly thought so, anyway. Steven Tyler once said Joshua was "one of the top two Idols of all time," Randy Jackson declared him "one of the best singers ever on this show," and Jennifer Lopez even called him "one of the best singers of the past 50 years." Joshua even received no less than sixteen standing ovations throughout the season. But apparently ovation number 16 was not so sweet--because this week, Joshua "Mantasia" Ledet narrowly missed making the finale, shockingly going home in third place, leaving Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez as the final two.
This was wrong. Just WRONG. Apparently, it's a man's, man's, man's world...but not a Mantasia's world.

The judges bid Joshua farewell [photo: Fox]So what happened? Was Joshua a victim of the over-the-top overpraise that, some might theorize, hurt past judges'-pet contestants like Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, and Pia Toscano? Was his elimination symptomatic of a larger problem with "Idol": the fact that African Americans, particularly African American males, haven't fared well on this show in many, many years? (Note: You have to go all the way back to Season 2's Ruben Studdard, who won nine years ago, to find a black male winner, or even a black male making the finale at all.) Were his flamboyant, sometimes screechy performances too polarizing? Did his reserved offstage demeanor make it difficult for viewers to connect with him, especially during a week when Phillip and Jessica's homecomings were so emotional? You know, I'm really not sure why Joshua stalled in third place--but I am certain that many interesting conspiracy theories will rage across message boards and Twitter for days to come.
Whatever the reason, I'm just deeply saddened that this phenomenal talent didn't make it all the way to the very end. While Phillip Phillips is an undeniably great performer, and Jessica Sanchez is an undeniably great singer, Mantasia was the one Season 11 contestant who always combined both qualities in one dynamite package.
Joshua's amazing final song
Well, at least Joshua went out with THE best exit performance in "Idol" history, with the teary-eyed, seemingly devastated judges (yes, even Steven Tyler was crying) and Joshua's proud mama joining him onstage. Phillip and Jessica sure are going to have a tough time topping Joshua's "Man's World" tour de force when they compete on next week's big finale.
Oh, and by the way: Joshua got a SEVENTEENTH standing ovation tonight. Parker out.

Rambut Pendek Untuk Berbagai Bentuk Wajah

1. Wajah bulat

6 Mitos Seputar Perselingkuhan

Tak melulu soal percintaan, mitos seputar perselingkuhan pun banyak beredar. Namun tidak semua sepenuhnya benar. Yuk cari tahu kebenarannya.

MITOS: Perselingkuhan hanya terjadi ketika pasangan selalu bertengkar.

2. Penyimpanan
Menurut Professor Wansink, penulis "Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think", pemilihan tempat penyimpanan makanan sangat berpengaruh terhadap berat badan kita.

Apel Bantu Cegah Pembekuan Darah

Warna Mata Bantu Deteksi Penyakit Kulit

Teenage Boy Finds Finger in Arby’s Sandwich

Ryan Hart, a 14-year-old boy from Michigan, had a rude surprise when he bit into his Arby's roast beef sandwich. "I was like, 'that's got to be a finger,'" he told the Jackson Citizen Patriot. "It was just nasty."

Reportedly, a restaurant employee cut off her finger with a meat slicer while preparing the meal. She left her station to deal with the emergency, and other employees, who were unaware of the injury, continued to complete the order.
"Somebody loses a finger and you keep sending food out the window," said the teen's mom, Jamie Vail. "I can't believe that." She added that following the gruesome discovery, her son was "traumatized," couldn't eat or sleep, and had been prescribed medication Fox News reports.

John Gray, Arby's vice president of corporate communications, provided Yahoo! Shine with a statement saying, "Arby’s wants to reassure customers that we are committed to providing quality food in a safe and healthy environment. We are deeply concerned and apologetic to the guest involved in this unfortunate incident....An isolated and unfortunate accident occurred in a franchisee’s Jackson, Michigan restaurant in which an employee was injured. Upon learning of the incident, the franchisee’s restaurant team shut down food production and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the restaurant. The franchisee fully cooperated with the Health Department during the investigation, and the restaurant was given the approval to remain open."
This is not the first time human remains have been found in a fast food meal but this case might be the most extreme.
  • A Dayton Ohio man sued Arby's in 2005 for reportedly serving him a chicken sandwich topped with a piece of human skin.
  • In a famous 2005 hoax, a Las Vegas woman found a human finger in Wendy's chili but police later discovered she had cooked her husband's colleague's finger (which he had lost in a work accident) and slipped it into the bowl herself.
  • An Albany-area man allegedly found a bloody bandage in the crust of his Pizza Hut pie in 2011.
  • Also in 2011, Texan woman found blood on her French fries while eating at a Houston-area Crackle Barrel.
Do you think the health and safety standards are high enough at fast food restaurants? Please let us know in the comments below.

Coffee buzz: Study finds java drinkers live longer.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — One of life's simple pleasures just got a little sweeter. After years of waffling research on coffee and health, even some fear that java might raise the risk of heart disease, a big study finds the opposite: Coffee drinkers are a little more likely to live longer. Regular or decaf doesn't matter.
The study of 400,000 people is the largest ever done on the issue, and the results should reassure any coffee lovers who think it's a guilty pleasure that may do harm.
"Our study suggests that's really not the case," said lead researcher Neal Freedman of the National Cancer Institute. "There may actually be a modest benefit of coffee drinking."
No one knows why. Coffee contains a thousand things that can affect health, from helpful antioxidants to tiny amounts of substances linked to cancer. The most widely studied ingredient — caffeine — didn't play a role in the new study's results.
It's not that earlier studies were wrong. There is evidence that coffee can raise LDL, or bad cholesterol, and blood pressure at least short-term, and those in turn can raise the risk of heart disease.
Even in the new study, it first seemed that coffee drinkers were more likely to die at any given time. But they also tended to smoke, drink more alcohol, eat more red meat and exercise less than non-coffee-drinkers. Once researchers took those things into account, a clear pattern emerged: Each cup of coffee per day nudged up the chances of living longer.
The study was done by the National Institutes of Health and AARP. The results are published in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine.
Careful, though — this doesn't prove that coffee makes people live longer, only that the two seem related. Like most studies on diet and health, this one was based strictly on observing people's habits and resulting health. So it can't prove cause and effect.
But with so many people, more than a decade of follow-up and enough deaths to compare, "this is probably the best evidence we have" and are likely to get, said Dr. Frank Hu of the Harvard School of Public Health. He had no role in this study but helped lead a previous one that also found coffee beneficial.
The new one began in 1995 and involved AARP members ages 50 to 71 in California, Florida, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Atlanta and Detroit. People who already had heart disease, a stroke or cancer weren't included. Neither were folks at diet extremes — too many or too few calories per day.
The rest gave information on coffee drinking once, at the start of the study. "People are fairly consistent in their coffee drinking over their lifetime," so the single measure shouldn't be a big limitation, Freedman said.
Of the 402,260 participants, about 42,000 drank no coffee. About 15,000 drank six cups or more a day. Most people had two or three.
By 2008, about 52,000 of them had died. Compared to those who drank no coffee, men who had two or three cups a day were 10 percent less likely to die at any age. For women, it was 13 percent.
Even a single cup a day seemed to lower risk a little: 6 percent in men and 5 percent in women. The strongest effect was in women who had four or five cups a day — a 16 percent lower risk of death.
None of these are big numbers, though, and Freedman can't say how much extra life coffee might buy.
"I really can't calculate that," especially because smoking is a key factor that affects longevity at every age, he said.
Coffee drinkers were less likely to die from heart or respiratory disease, stroke, diabetes, injuries, accidents or infections. No effect was seen on cancer death risk, though.
Other research ties coffee drinking to lower levels of markers for inflammation and insulin resistance. Researchers also considered that people in poor health might refrain from drinking coffee and whether their abstention could bias the results. But the study excluded people with cancer and heart disease — the most common health problems — to minimize this chance. Also, the strongest benefits of coffee drinking were seen in people who were healthiest when the study began.
About two-thirds of study participants drank regular coffee, and the rest, decaf. The type of coffee made no difference in the results.
Hu had this advice for coffee lovers:
— Watch the sugar and cream. Extra calories and fat could negate any benefits from coffee.
— Drink filtered coffee rather than boiled — filtering removes compounds that raise LDL, the bad cholesterol.
Researchers did not look at tea, soda or other beverages but plan to in future analyses.
Lou and Mariann Maris have already compared them. Sipping a local brew at a lakefront coffee shop, the suburban Milwaukee couple told of how they missed coffee after briefly giving it up in the 1970s as part of a health kick that included transcendental meditation and eating vegetarian.
Mariann Maris switched to tea after being treated for breast cancer in 2008, but again missed the taste of coffee. It's one of life's great pleasures, especially because her husband makes it, she said.
"Nothing is as satisfying to me as a cup of coffee in the morning," she said.

6 Foods That Fight Pain

Try: Turmeric. Turmeric contains a powerful anti-inflammatory compound known as curcumin. (In fact, turmeric is sometimes simply called curcumin.) This deep yellow-gold spice has a smoky, peppery flavor and is used in curries and mustard. "It's such a powerful anti-inflammatory, it's one of the spices I recommend eating every day," says integrative nutritionist Beth Reardon, director of nutrition at Duke Integrative Medicine, part of the Duke University Health System, who adds it to almond milk with cinnamon and a touch of honey.
Other examples: Garlic, ginger, cinnamon, tart cherry, curry, rosemary. (Dried tart cherries, while not technically a spice or herb, are another antioxidant-superstar way to "spice up" other foods.)
Why: Several studies have shown an anti-inflammatory effect of turmeric on patients with rheumatoid arthritis. These spices and herbs help inhibit the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins and COX inhibitors (the same enzyme-inhibiting substances in medications such as Vioxx or Celebrex).

Spooked horse swims two miles offshore

Beach goers and boaters along the coast of central California are accustomed to seeing fascinating sea creatures large and small off its shores — but an Arabian horse?
Some at first thought the gleaming white animal bobbing up and down on the waves near Santa Barbara was a seagull, but were surprised to learn it was a equine model known as William, reports the Santa Barbara News-Press.
The 6-year-old Arabian, whose full name is Heir of Temptation, was part of a photo clinic on the beach until it got spooked by ocean waves crashing on shore and bolted, says owner Mindy Peters.  The beautiful white stallion is valued at $150,000.
But instead of running away from the waves, William charged them and swam two miles out to sea.
Rescue crews managed to corral the horse a mile offshore around sunset. William was taken to Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Los Olivos. The horse was exhausted and had some water in its lungs, but is doing fine.
The animal managed to stay afloat despite having its long tail wrapped around one of its legs  for almost three hours.
Veterinarian  Dr. Lisa Teske credits his breeding.
"Being an Arabian, I think, has a lot to do with his endurance level. He's pretty fit."

Wah, Ternyata Mengunyah Permen Karet Dapat Merusak Memori Jangka Pendek!
